Job Description Summary
Reporting directly to head coach, the Director Of Operations for Men's Basketball manages daily operations of the men's basketball program and all game logistics, including travel and practice. They will assist with practice management; provide administrative support to the coaches; supervise team of student managers, write routine correspondence; coordinate recruitment travel; organize student athlete visits; manage recruiting database; organize all program scheduling, including but not limited to, practice schedules, team events and opponent practice times; write program communications (alumni newsletters, social media, etc.); plan end of year banquet; assist with alumni relations, equipment ordering, and budget management. Coordinate Young Quakers Programming with Netter Center and other civic engagement activities. Plan events, arrange matches, and collect feedback for mentoring program.

Job Description

  • Manage daily operation of basketball program; ensure compliance with NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations.
  • Attend all home games, manage all game logistic. Attended all road games, manage travel, hotel, meal, and shoot -around logistics; Set up team practice and assist with practice management (filming, charting drills, etc).
  • Provide executive level administrative support for the Head Coach and general administrative support for 3 assistant coaches (2 full-time and 1 volunteer), including but not limited to, mange calendars, submit expense reimbursements, respond to routine correspondence. Manage team of student managers.
  • Coordinate all coaches travel (e.g., recruiting, convention, etc) and prospective student-athlete travel (visits); organize prospective student-athlete correspondence and schedule official and unofficial visits.
  • Manage recruiting database, film exchange platform, and all other software platforms.
  • Organize all program scheduling including practice scheduling, game scheduling, team events, and opponent practice teams.
  • Manage/write all program communication (e.g., alumni newsletters, social media, respond to general programs correspondence, etc.)
  • Serve as a liaison to Center for Student Athlete Success, Communications Office, Finance Office, Ticket Office, Facilities, Operations, Equipment, Penn Champions Club, and the Basketball Board.
  • Assist the Head Coach with budget management and monitor expenses.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree required plus 2-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. previous experience as a player or coach preferred. Excellent organizational skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong computer skills and knowledge of social media. Career interest in either coaching or athletic administration preferred. Ability to work evenings and weekends and ability to travel required. Valid driver's license.
