The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Must be currently Board Eligible by the American Board of Radiology.

Teaching responsibilities may include the teaching, training and mentoring of trainees (residents, fellows) and medical students. This includes both clinical and didactic teaching, in a 1:1, small group, or lecture format.

Clinical responsibilities may include … providing clinical, multidisciplinary care via radiotherapy in its various forms (external beam, brachytherapy, etc), as indicated. To develop clinical excellence in a specific disease site(s), with national/international recognition as a disease-specific clinical expert.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include the development of a track record of academic excellence and expertise in a disease-specific area, as reflected by original, peer-reviewed published research. To develop a national/international recognition as an academic, research-focused expert in a disease-specific area.

Penn Radiation Oncology is dedicated to a three-part mission of excellence in patient care, basic and translational research, and the education of residents and medical students. Penn Medicine delivers a broad range of radiation therapy services to its patients, including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy, partial breast irradiation, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS/SBRT using Gamma Knife /Cyberknife/Varian Linac). Patients will also have access to proton therapy at the Roberts Proton Therapy Center, housing the largest proton therapy facility in the USA, comprising four gantry treatment rooms and one fixed beam room. Penn Radiation Oncology is not only committed to delivering high-quality radiation therapy, but also to enhancing and improving upon the patient experience by providing a full range of clinical services. An integral component of the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Radiation Oncology, can draw upon the center's full resources to deliver the best possible overall care.
