The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Hematology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent or M.D. (or equivalent) /Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care, education, and research. Candidates must be board certified in pediatric hematology/oncology or be board eligible and within five years of fellowship.

The position is for an individual with demonstrated success in scientific research in the area of bone marrow failure and neutropenia disorders. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in the genetics and genomics of neutropenic disorders with experience in preclinical modeling and demonstrated interest in clinical studies. A focus on clinical participation in the hematologic guidance of care of bone marrow failure and neutropenia patients combined with ongoing research in this area is expected.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching of medical students, pediatric residents and pediatric hematology/oncology fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient and outpatient care of children with hematologic disorders.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include development as an independent investigator in the area of bone marrow failure and neutropenia disorders.

The successful applicants will have clinical and research experience in a relevant area and evidence of independent investigation and funding.
