We invite applicants for a full-time faculty position with an appointment as the Associate Dean for Research and Innovation. This individual is a senior researcher with a strong and sustained program of funded research in an area relevant to nursing science. The candidate will provide vision and leadership to the School's research, translation, and innovations efforts, and will engage in strategic planning and management of the School's research agenda including overseeing research support through the Office of Nursing Research and developing and operationalizing research policies for the School. The Associate Dean for Research and Innovation develops internal structures for research and innovation, provides leadership and support for the research mission of the School by serving on the School's administrative leadership team and representing the School on university research committees, and works collaboratively with department chairs to develop faculty.

As a worldwide leader in interdisciplinary and nursing research, the work of our faculty and students is advancing science and delivering solutions that impact every aspect of health and health care. The Office of Nursing Research, along with our research centers and partnerships across Penn, provide students and faculty with resources and support that are virtually unparalleled in our field.

Candidates for the Associate Dean for Research must hold a research doctorate, and be eligible for tenure at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. This accomplished researcher must have their own established program of research with a proven record of extensive, sustained extramurally funded research from diverse funding streams, an appreciation for "all forms of knowing", experience leading and managing interdisciplinary teams, a strong track record in the development of mentoring programs with demonstrated outcomes, a history of progressive, administrative leadership responsibility, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
