SCAD seeks an experienced, part-time professor to join its interior design program in bustling Atlanta.

As luminaries in the industry, SCAD professors teach students to draw on the knowledge and skill to win honors from organizations like the International Design Association and standout features with publishers like Contract magazine.

As a professor, you will guide students as they gain the expertise and fluency to blend timeless design with modern style. You will prepare students to employ aesthetic theory, culture, materiality, and function in the design of interior spaces and motivate them with enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence. Led by professors like you and the accomplished interior design faculty, students will create meaningful and memorable design solutions during sponsored studio collaborations with corporate partners like Walt Disney Imagineering, Chick-fil-A, Mohawk Industries, and more.

The successful candidate is experienced in professional visualization and electronic design techniques and applications. Knowledgeable and committed to student excellence, the candidate should have a strong professional portfolio and teaching experience in conceptual design development, space planning, FF&E, sustainability, materials, regulatory compliance, and the preparation of construction documents. The candidate should have also be experienced with and enthusiastic about working with an engaged, diverse, and remarkable international student body.

Requirements
  • M.F.A. or its equivalent in interior design or related field
  • Portfolio of professional design work
  • National Council for Interior Design Qualification certification
  • University-level teaching experience preferred
