Job Description

Duties:

The purpose of this position is to contribute to the development and research of the Penn Child Research Center and support the center's operational efforts. Responsibilities include development of relevant content for existing and future projects, conducting scientific analyses, manuscript writing, grant proposal development and writing, project management, community partnership development, supervision of student workers, and logistical and operational support for the center. Extensive experience in applied, partnership-based work with the School District and City of Philadelphia and content area expertise in national and local early childhood education issues and educational policy are essential. A deep understanding of the theory, logic, research, and partnership underlying the center's major Conquering Kindergarten initiative with the School District is also essential.

This position is contingent upon funding.

Qualifications:

A Ph.D in Education, Educational Policy, or Early Childhood Education and 3-5 years of experience is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two to four years of experience in applied, partnership-based early childhood educational research required.

Expertise with advanced statistical methodologies, statistical software (SAS, SPSS, R), and exceptional writing and communication skills are required.

Basic experience with qualitative research and software (Atlas.ti) and strong knowledge of local and state educational policy is also preferred.

Position requires work on-site at the University of Pennsylvania's campus in Philadelphia, however, a hybrid work arrangement will also be considered.
