The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of psychiatry with a focus in genetic computational analysis of large datasets, particularly electronic health records with corresponding genetic data. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include lectures on genetics in the addiction course for undergraduates, seminars in this area for graduate students, and supervising postdoctoral fellows.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing the candidate's own research program in the genetic analysis of substance use disorders. Experience in genome-wide association analysis of multi-ancestry datasets, phenome-wide analysis, mendelian randomization, and computational techniques is required. The candidate should have a record of publication and extramural funding demonstrating their ability to lead an independent research program.
