Job Description Summary
This position will assist in the management of multiple clinical trials and responsibilities in specific research area. Coordinate the screening of patients, subject enrollment, collection and storage of biological samples and related study documents, and collection of clinical data.

Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) filings and inquiries, and assist in the preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, and research related presentations. Works closely with the Principal Investigator, manager, and study team to identify problems and develop solutions. Implement approved changes to procedures as needed and monitor results. Responsible for study coordination for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects.

Job Description

The Division of Health Policy is seeking a highly-motivated Clinical Research Coordinator A/B to be responsible for the day-to-day activities of multiple qualitative research studies that assess behavioral science approaches across multiple domains to improve health and healthcare delivery. This position requires previous qualitative experience and someone who can work collaboratively with investigators and the Senior Qualitative Research Scientist to assist in collecting qualitative data, coding and analysis of qualitative data, and assist with the writing of scholarly manuscripts.

In addition to the above, the Clinical Research Coordinator B will have demonstrated qualitative research experience and administrative skills. They will work with a team to collect, manage, and analyze qualitative data. They will assist in the development of data collection tools (interview guides, coding framework etc.), code books, and dissemination materials for multi-site, national, federally funded, collaborative qualitative research studies. The Clinical Research Coordinator B is expected to provide additional involvement in developing recruitment and other process strategies, and in presenting data and reports to the research team.

Qualifications

Clinical Research Coordinator A
Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Clinical Research Coordinator B
Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Both levels: The successful candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. She/He/They will be a highly motivated self-starter, detail oriented and have strong planning and prioritizing capabilities. Must be able to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including investigators, clinical partners and patients. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Comfort with web based platforms and technology strongly preferred. Previous qualitative research experience preferred. Familiarity with MS Word and Excel is essential; familiarity with good data management practices, REDCap and previous EHR experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or social science discipline (Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Communications, Public Health).
  • Master's degree preferred not required for Clinical Research Coordinator B position.
  • 1-3 years of qualitative data collection experience; including familiarity with in-depth interviewing, ethnography and the conduct of focus groups.
  • Experience using qualitative data analysis software; Knowledge of NVivo preferred.
  • Strong communication, writing and organizational skills.
  • Experience reading and analyzing scholarly manuscripts based on qualitative data.
  • Ability to work accurately, paying strict attention to detail, and willingness to do varied work.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Previous experience working in an academic medical environment, public health, or health services research strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
