Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Director of Student Advising, the Senior Associate Director (Sr. AD), Career Advisor instructs, counsels, and advises MBA students on long-term career development as well as immediate job search objectives for full-time MBA positions and summer internships within specific industries or sectors that may include any of the following: Consulting, Consumer Products, Diversified Financial Services, Energy, Health Care, Hedge Funds, Investment Banking, Investment Management, Manufacturing, Media & Entertainment, Private Equity, Public Interest, Real Estate, Retail, Technology / Telecom, Travel & Hospitality, Venture Capital, and Entrepreneurship. This position will provide direction to the Relationship Manager(s) in developing a strategic plan for maintaining the office's quick response to changes in the economy and to changes in the students' industry choices. The Career Advisor will also work with their industry Relationship Manager to broaden corporate relationships within their industries. The Career Advisor will work closely with a number of important internal and external groups including faculty, students, employers, and alumni to achieve the goals of Career Management. The Career Advisor will review and update My Action Plan (MAP) with industry-based content and resources for student use. MAP allows students to explore MBA career paths and industry "action plans," access personalized data-driven content, find recruiting resources, and build job search skills. Finally, the Career Advisor will contribute to content and execution of a number of important projects including the student resume processes, mock interviews, trek management, web design and a number of other student related programs.

Job Description

Qualifications: MBA or other graduate degree strongly preferred along with a minimum of five to seven years of prior work experience in recruiting, job placement, career counseling or coaching and/or significant industry experience. Highly motivated and dedicated individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Previous managerial experience required, along with an ability to work as a strong team player. Able to interact across multiple levels, and willingness to go above and beyond in order to achieve the required goals. Deep knowledge of business and business careers, and strong written and oral communication skills, are essential. Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally.
