Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplant. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Board-certified in pediatric hematology/oncology.

Teaching responsibilities may include didactic and clinical instruction of junior faculty, residents, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and medical students.

Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient and outpatient care focused on children, adolescents, and young adults receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplants at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and active involvement in fellowship training. The candidate should have at least two years of experience as an attending physician after completion of fellowship training. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing stem cell transplants for both malignant and non-malignant disorders and would specifically be interested in developing a clinical focus in curative therapies for patients with primary immunodeficiency and hemoglobinopathy disorders.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include expanding translational and clinical research efforts in Hematopoietic Cell Transplant. The successful applicant will be academically productive, collaborative, and able to expand our already robust research enterprise. The successful candidate must have an established record of peer-reviewed scholarship and extramural grant funding. Experience in working with large institutional and multicenter transplant datasets to conduct outcomes research and participation in supportive care research initiatives including those focused on infectious disease management during transplant is preferred.
