Job Description Summary
Partner with training and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyze training needs. Design, develop, and deliver coordinated programs (both web-based & instructor-led), using best practices of instructional design and adult learning theory to support University goals and improve individual performance. Serve as department representative on committees and project teams; manage all facets of assigned projects related to development and implementation of training solutions, including technical, logistics, and communications.

The role of the Senior Training Specialist is to provide/facilitate instruction on a wide variety of financial and administrative enterprise level applications and their related policies, procedures, and business processes. Includes mastery of existing training materials as well as regular updates and modifications of trainer paths, courseware, and support documentation.

Additional responsibilities will include: Using the University Learning Management System to record and track training, assisting SMEs with system and process testing, generating and testing sample data for training environments, conducting train-the-trainer sessions, and remaining current on training and educational products and methodologies.

Job Description
  • Design, develop, and deliver web-based courseware using best practices of instructional design and adult learning theory to support University goals and improve individual performance. (25%)
  • Deliver instructor-led training programs on a wide range of policies, procedures, business processes and enterprise level systems as they relate to finance and business administration throughout the University. Facilitate scenario-based classroom training sessions. (30%)
  • Provide timely response to end-user inquiries and request for support of training related content through BEN Helps Support Portal. (10%)
  • Training and classroom support activities, including using the University Learning Management System to record and track training, generating and testing sample data for training environments, conducting train-the-trainer sessions, and remaining current on training and educational products and methodologies. (10%)
  • Regular maintenance and updates of trainer paths, courseware, and support documentation for an expanding library of content. (10%)
  • Serve as department representative on committees and project teams; manage all facets of assigned training projects related to development and implementation of training solutions, including technical, logistical and communications aspects. (10%)
  • Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyze training needs and to design, develop, and deliver coordinated programs using best practices of instructional design and adult learning theory. Assist SMEs with system and process testing, as needed. (5%)


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Demonstrated classroom presentation and management experience.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of instructional design and adult learning theory and application.
  • Proven experience in curriculum design and delivery.
  • Very strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a challenging and fast paced, collaborative environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot/navigate through technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.
  • Experience with eLearning creation and software is required; Articulate 360 experience is preferred.
  • Experience with learning management systems; SAP/SuccessFactors and Workday Learning preferred
  • Experience providing customer support through a CRM tool; FreshService experience preferred
  • Understanding of eLearning and mobile eLearning standards (SCORM, AICC, HTML5, etc.).
  • Experience with financial and business processes preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and accurate. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills, along with the ability to work within tight and often conflicting deadlines.
  • Must be flexible, show effective judgement, discretion and have the ability to handle confidential financial matters
  • Work effectively in a highly matrixed and decentralized environment with the ability to navigate through ambiguity and demonstrate appreciation and support for diversity, inclusion and belonging in a constantly evolving academic/higher education environment.
