Job Description Summary
The Associate Director of Marketing will coordinate and execute a comprehensive marketing plan for Penn Athletics, with a focus on ticketed sports (football, basketball, lacrosse and wrestling) and the Penn Relays to increase ticket sales, drive attendance and create a memorable and exciting fan experience. Works collaboratively with the ticket office to increase ticket sales and student attendance by a variety of digital and traditional marketing methods. Supervises marketing coordinator, part-time marketing staff, work studies, cheer, mascot and band.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Creates and executes all marketing and promotional efforts for Penn's varsity sports, focused primarily on the ticketed sports (football, basketball, lacrosse, wrestling). Designs marketing plans using digital and traditional methods to increase ticket sales. Collaborates with ticket office, creative services, video production and communications/social to increase ticket sales and student attendance.
  • Creates engaging and fun in-game environments that adds value to fans and creates a home-field advantage for student-athletes. Create game scripts, promotions and on-court presentations which strategically using video boards, audio, PA announcer and cheer/band/mascot to create a fun experience for fans of all ages.
  • Develops relationships with campus partners (University Life, Dining, Greek Life, Alumni Relations, House Deans) and student groups to increase student attendance. Plan and execute portions of New Student Orientation to build community.
  • Create and execute marketing plan to maximize attendance at Penn Relays. Works collaboratively with Relays administration to create fan guide, scripts and an exciting race day environment. Coordinates marketing efforts for large scale NCAA and regional events that Penn will host.
  • Supervises Marketing Coordinator, part-time marketing staff, work studies, cheer, band and mascot.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree is required and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in college or professional athletics. Experience hosting large-scale events preferred. Excellent customer service skills and strong oral and written communications skills required. Familiarity with intercollegiate (NCAA) events, activities, and operations preferred. Ability to comply with all NCAA/Ivy League rules and regulations. Ability and willingness to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

$45,000 -- $50,000 commensurate with education and experience.
