Job Description Summary
The Senior Vice Provost for Research oversees campus-wide research planning efforts, linkages between the University and industry, and the transfer of technologies from University laboratories to the public sector. In addition, she governs the research activities of Provostial Centers and Institutes, particularly those involving interdisciplinary collaboration.

Job Description

Responsibilities: The Staff Assistant provides high-level administrative support to the Senior Vice Provost for Research. Assists in directing and coordinating daily operations and /or administrative activities of the office. This includes managing a complex calendar, and assisting in the preparation of materials and correspondence. Arranges travel as needed, including registration, hotel, and or air/train arrangements. Manages office supply and food ordering (via Procard and invoices) as needed. Schedules all standing committee meetings within the OVPR office and assists in staffing standing committees, including Provost's Council on Research, VPR directors meetings, review committees and other committees as needed. Develops and maintains accurate files both hard copy and electronic. Assists in administering the OVPR initiatives including URF and other programs. Updates VPR website. Provides administrative support to Associate Vice Provosts for Research and office initiatives. The staff assistant establishes and maintains critical office systems and protocols, including document management system, office-wide calendar, and other systems required to improve efficiency, information sharing, and shared learning. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • College Degree
  • 3-5 years of experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in Outlook
