Job Description Summary
Assistant Editor

Job Description

The Assistant Editor will support and perform a variety of duties, including working with:

  • The guest editor to secure reviewers for the special edition
  • The staff of JHM to enter reviewers into the on-line review system
  • The guest editor to review manuscripts and assign them to appropriate reviewers
  • Prospective authors during the review process
  • The guest editor to respond to prospective authors, whether the response is a “denial” or a “revise-and-resubmit”
  • The guest editor to select and organize the final submissions for publications
  • The guest editor on pertinent research projects
  • The guest editor on other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years experience; excellent organizational skills; top-notch attention to details; good communication skills (writing and speaking); ability to work independently.
