Job Description Summary
This position involves managing a range of funded clinical research studies, both NIH and industry funded. The position will also entail supporting research staff management for the conduct of these studies, and study management tasks including regulatory approvals, sponsor reporting, and close collaboration with the Penn Emergency Medicine grants office to structure and manage budgets. The person in this position will work closely with and provide a high-level support to two Principal Investigators who conduct clinical and population based research at Penn Emergency Medicine. Reporting will primarily be to one of these two PIs, Dr. Abella, in his role as Vice Chair for Research.

Project Manager B Duties: The position is responsible for the project management of multiple studies including overseeing all tasks necessary to ensure that studies are conducted safely and according to protocol. The Project Manager B will be responsible for developing protocols, ensuring proper transfer and management of study data, training and supervision of research coordinators and research assistants. This position will also assist with IRB applications, sponsor reports, and manuscripts in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team of research collaborators who work closely with the two Principal Investigators. They will meet regularly with study and department leadership to provide study updates but will function independently in carrying out most responsibilities. The role will include regular contact with outside entities of importance to manage vendors for conducting online research trials. subcontracts This position will also assist with grant applications, budget development and management of study finances.

Job Description

Responsible for both strategic planning and day to day management of complex and broad range of projects conducted with collaborators both internal and external to Penn. With mentoring from the Principal Investigator, the Research Project Manager will take leadership role in developing study protocols, writing grants, managing the detailed operations of projects, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, cultivating close relationships with community partner organizations, and drafting/editing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journal. He/she will help develop the team's research strategy and will have ample opportunities to lead projects and co-author papers. Will be required to ensure that studies/research are conducted safely and according to protocol, provide supervision to educators and teams conducting the study/interventions and collaborates with peers from other Universities and funding agencies. Will also be responsible for coordinating grant applications and interacts with funding administrators and the University Business Office. Provides significant contributions to presentations and manuscripts, including multiple drafts for review and dissemination. Plays a primary role in other dissemination activities related to project findings.

Qualifications
Master's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Bachelor's Degree and 5-plus years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in is required, including experience with staff management and complex collaborative work with industry and other study sponsors. Ability to work in diverse, multi-disciplinary environment. Excellent written and verbal skills. Position contingent upon funding.
