Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Director, Penn Abroad and Global Programs, the Global Programs Assistant (GPA) performs a wide range of front-line administrative and programmatic support services related to the delivery of global opportunities to Penn students, their families, and campus partners. The role provides front-line support and timely responses to inquiries received in Penn Abroad, directs inquiries to appropriate staff members in the team, judges urgency of situations, and assists with staff and visitor scheduling. The Global Programs Assistant provides finance support for the office, including assisting with payments, expense reports, and student billing. The role works closely with the Director throughout the year on other projects as needed, including technology support, marketing and outreach support, and provides administrative support across all global programming as needed.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide front-line administrative and programmatic services related to the delivery of global opportunities to Penn students and their families, including managing phones, email inquiries, and scheduling
  • Provide administrative support for global programs, including processing registration and application materials
  • Support technology requests with Penn Abroad systems, including the coordination of Calendly accounts, front desk technology, and the application management system used in Penn Abroad, PASSPORT.
  • Provide support to financial processes in the office, working with relevant staff members in the Penn Abroad team and the Penn Global Business Office
  • Provide support on strategic marketing and outreach initiatives in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Marketing and Outreach, and the Global Programs Coordinator.
  • Supports the Director on other projects requiring administrative/team support as needed.


Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 years of professional experience are required. Experience studying or interning abroad is strongly preferred.
