Youth and Family Education Coordinator
Reiman Gardens at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for a Youth & Family Education Coordinator. This position reports to the Education Manager and coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of day-to-day and long-range operations of youth and family educational programs at Reiman Gardens. Program areas include, but are not limited to: guided tours, school programs, and group visits; youth and family workshops, camps, and outreach events; scout and homeschool programs; and garden interpretation. This position also supports the coordination and day-to-day operations of adult educational programs and involves some administrative organization.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and at all levels within the organizations involved; be detailed-oriented, creative, and self-motivated; work well independently and in a team environment; effectively manage and handle multiple, ongoing tasks; and have strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will possess a very solid, working knowledge of effective teaching methods, particularly in non-classroom settings; and customer service, as well as be able to effectively create and teach educational programs and deal with the visiting public.
May be required to work some evening, weekend, and Holiday hours for special events.
