The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for the position of Director of the Campus Y in UNC Student Affairs:

Position Description

The director of the Campus Y provides overall leadership of the organization with a particular focus on the Executive Board and Cabinet, along with oversight of the department’s three major programs. The Bonner Leader Program is a nationally recognized leadership development program for over 50 undergraduate students with high financial need and a strong interest in service and civic engagement. The CUBE Initiative provides student entrepreneurs with the support, resources, and the community they need to build social ventures from the ground up. The Global Gap Year Fellowship program allows students to design their own experience or join Global Citizen Year for a year abroad. The three departmental programs, along with the 31 Campus Y Committees all have a common thread that centers on social justice. The position reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and serves on the Student Affairs Leadership Team.

Educational Requirements

Master's Degree in higher education, public policy, public administration, business administration, international affairs, global education, entrepreneurship, or non-profit/public/organizational management.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • • Minimum of 5 years of experience in some combination of the position responsibilities;
  • • Demonstrated commitment to volunteerism, advocacy and social justice issues;
  • • Demonstrated abilities in program planning, evaluation and assessment;
  • • Demonstrated experience with integrating diversity, equity and inclusion in programs and services;
  • • Demonstrated experience supervising diverse staff and co-curricular programming for diverse students;
  • • Familiarity with legal issues arising from volunteerism and non-profits;
  • • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well effectively within a team environment and with student leadership;
  • • Demonstrated exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills in a collaborative, diverse, and multidisciplinary environment.


Preferred Qualifications and Experience
  • • Demonstrated experience and success in fundraising and prospect development
  • • Understanding of college student development; experience with formal, informal and non-formal teaching and learning;
  • • Previous experience working with college students.

Salary

Salary is commensurate with education and experience; low to mid 80s.
