As the assistant director of admission, you will travel to effectively represent the university to prospective students at school-specific events, information sessions, college fairs (according to NACAC guidelines), and conferences while building ongoing professional and institutional relationships. You will follow up with prospective students to discuss their interests and answer questions about the admission process and opportunities at the university, increase the positive awareness of SCAD in the assigned region, and plan travel to strategically identified high schools and universities. You will also deliver creative and engaging classroom presentations to students at all levels and individually meet with them to provide information about the application process, including portfolio counseling as needed.
In this position, you will strive to enhance the positive reputation of SCAD in your assigned region to support and facilitate successful recruitment efforts. As part of this mission, you will select, invite, and host educators to attend SCAD's Educator Weekend; use SCAD alumni and parent ambassadors and SCAD Alumni Services to support recruitment efforts; and monitor application and enrollment reports to evaluate activity results. You will assist with admitted and deposit paid calls; attend award ceremonies to announce scholarship winners; provide on-campus support during university tours, SCAD Days, and other programming; take an active role in admission training; serve as a mentor to new staff; remain current on university policies and procedures; and develop strong relationships with admission advisers. You will also manage and maintain a calendar via Outlook, maintain accurate and thorough records in Salesforce, cover LivePerson shifts as needed, and enter planned and confirmed events as they appear on the Master Recruitment Calendar, among other duties.
The successful candidate takes an active role when training their team and maintains an open, clear line of communication with admission leadership. Flexibility throughout the recruitment year for institutional and personal growth is vital, as is the ability to confidently and positively serve as a mentor for new staff as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Travel required: More than 50%
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
