The associate chair provides an essential role to the fast growing, award-winning interactive design and game development department. Ranked as a top program by the Princeton Review, Animation Career Review and the Rookies, you will work with current faculty and leadership to create quality education and opportunities for its students within a professional environment wherein knowledge, creativity, discipline, and character are developed. As part of the department leadership and faculty, you will teach courses, render professional services at times and places determined by the university, and attend on-campus events. Additionally, you may be required to participate in faculty councils or other extra-curricular events.
The ideal candidate should have experience leading industry or academic teams and understand the importance of mentorship and curriculum structure. You will be working to foster the faculty staff as well as brilliant, developing student minds. Candidates with either backgrounds in game development and real-time industries or web development and interactive experience designs will be a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Terminal degree in interactive design and game development or a related field
• Experience in or knowledge of related professions
• Academic and professional credentials to teach in the discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
• Teaching experience at the collegiate level
Travel required:
• Less than 10%
