As a staff accountant, you will perform basic accounting functions to support the university’s monthly close, annual audit, and statutory audits. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries for the monthly close, reconciling assigned general ledger balance sheet accounts, performing financial analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, documenting accounting cycles and internal controls, preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation for disclosures, and performing ad hoc analysis. You will be expected to meet strict monthly deadlines throughout.
Minimum qualifications:
Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver’s license
Travel required: Less than 10%
Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
