SCAD Savannah seeks a full-time professor for SCADpro, the university’s collaborative innovation studio that solves creative and business challenges for Fortune 500 clients, launches new brands, and offers students executive education.
In this full-time role, you will use your industrial design and user experience knowledge to teach PRO 540, 560, and 580 courses; demonstrate model leadership; and foster a positive learning environment for students from a variety of disciplines. The courses you teach will help prepare students for real-world design assignments and high-performance collaborations through lectures and presentations by faculty, professional guests, industry partners, and expert staff; diverse case studies; professional presentation tips; and collaboration exercises - all supplemented by robust exchange in which students expand their dialogue, discoveries, and collaboration abilities.
When teaching PRO 540, you will guide students as they refine their skills in effective communication, efficient management, adaptive thinking, and creative problem-solving. Students will work collaboratively and interdisciplinarily to research, develop, and conceptualize creative solutions for design challenges and user-centered products, services, and systems. For PRO 560-580 courses, you will focus on user-centered research for businesses and lead students as they execute contextual research, product conceptualization and development, and prototyping for compelling and interactive user experiences. Specific projects and industry partnerships vary from quarter to quarter.
The successful candidate specializes in design management and has experience with collaborative studio leadership. Exceptional interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and project-management skills are essential, as is strong attention to detail and a remarkable work ethic. The candidate should be organized and results-oriented, and should have an assertive personality. A commitment to student learning and personal and professional integrity are also crucial.
