SCAD seeks a full-time professor of production design for its Savannah location to help educate and motivate students as they take advantage of Georgia’s thriving film and television industry and the burgeoning production opportunities in the region.
In this position, you will use your knowledge of set, lighting, and design to create professionally oriented learning experiences for students in production design for film and television, performing arts, and themed entertainment design. You will also be an integral part of a collaborative faculty that develops a curriculum that mirrors professional production practice.
The successful candidate has a strong portfolio of work and proficiency with digital design, VR, professional visualization techniques, AutoCAD 3D, and digital rendering. Experience with physical model-making and scenic painting is also a plus.
SCAD production design professors lead the only program in the U.S. that offers a comprehensive approach to entertainment design, from set design and art direction for film and TV to stage productions, live events, theme parks, and immersive attractions. Primed for success, production design students have gone on to win numerous awards, from Walt Disney Imagineering’s Imaginations Design Competition to a Student Emmy for Best Scripted Series, and more.

Requirements
• Terminal degree or equivalent in production design or a related field
• Portfolio of professional work
• Professional experience as a production designer or art director, preferably in theater and live events, or film and television
