Assistant Director of Admission, Texas

As a full-time assistant director of admission, you will represent SCAD at strategic-fit public, private, and boarding schools to meet with prospective students, their teachers, counselors, and parents. Through individualized attention, presentations, information sessions, school-specific events, and other recruitment activities, you will advise prospective students on SCAD programs that best match their interests and abilities, and answer questions about the admission process. You will follow up with prospective students, keep activity records using Banner software, and manage applicant files. You will stay up to date on all SCAD policies, procedures, locations, programs of study, scholarships, housing and financial aid, study abroad, and other opportunities. Among other duties, you will also prepare transcripts and other academic documentation (e.g., AP scores, CLEP results, IB transcripts), participate in LiveAgent and online chat sessions throughout various points in the admission cycle, and encourage prospective students to visit SCAD locations.

The successful candidate must be a spectacular written and verbal communicator, with equally exceptional interpersonal skills. The ability to deliver dazzling presentations and stay organized is a must, and the candidate should also thrive as an independent contributor. Experience with Banner and Microsoft Office software is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Ability to travel extensively (about 40 weeks per year)

Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
