Professor of Industrial Design

SCAD Savannah seeks a full-time industrial design research professor to lead an active and engaging learning environment where students learn to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.

As a professor in the innovative SCAD School of Design, you will use your industrial design research experience and proficiency to motivate exceptional students as they come to understand people and context, discover new design opportunities, and shape the experiences of communities around the world.

To advance student learning, SCAD launched the design research and insight translation certification program, in partnership with Lextant, known for its rigorous approach that merges best practices from design and behavioral sciences to strategically model, design, deliver, and measure consumer experiences. As a professor teaching part of this program, you will guide students through the principles and techniques to conduct future-focused research that is actionable across all functions of an organization. The certification program applies to the undergraduate-level Contextual Research Methods course and the graduate-level Methods of Contextual Research course, each offered as on-ground and SCADnow online options.

SCAD Savannah is woven throughout one of TIME magazine’s "World’s Greatest Places 2021.” The city of Savannah’s inviting climate and a culturally rich downtown provide a living laboratory for the study of art and design, as well as a dynamically layered learning environment in which students, faculty, and staff flourish. Buoyed by this stimulating atmosphere, SCAD industrial design students have been recognized for their innovative proposed solutions to real-world problems by international organizations such as the European Product Design Awards, Core77 Design Awards, and the Red Dot Design Awards, where industrial design students have consistently won several Best of the Best Awards.
