The Division of Renal-Electrolyte and Hypertension in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of research focused in health economics or policy relevant to nephrology, or, application of advanced statistical or epidemiological methods, or implementation science focused on improving access to kidney transplantation, to home dialysis, or to managing patients with acute or chronic kidney disease. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Board certified or board eligible in Nephrology is required.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching Penn medical students, graduate students, residents, or fellows; applicants should be outstanding educators.

Clinical responsibilities may include caring for patients on both inpatient consultative services and in outpatient nephrology clinics at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include growing a research program focused in clinical or translational science. The successful candidate will develop and/or maintain an independently funded research effort.

Individuals who have extramural career development funding such as a K-award or significant independent funding are preferable. The successful candidate will benefit from a world-class collaborative research environment, protected time, and an attractive package to support their research program. Applicants must have a secondary advanced degree relevant to their research focus.
