Job Description Summary
The IT Support Specialist's primary role is to assist in the support and maintenance of the Undergraduate Admissions computing environment, including but not limited to troubleshooting and resolving technical problems with computing hardware, peripherals, and software. It involves providing deskside and remote support to staff including A/V and computing support for on-site and remote sessions and meetings.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • With limited technical oversight, manage hardware, software, and AV equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution
  • Give comprehensive, "everyone's a VIP" support of technology to staff
  • Provide technical expertise to staff on core software and applications, including Windows, Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Zoom
  • Maintain and deploy centralized endpoint patch and update management via BigFix
  • Working with the Events team, set up technology and provide technical support for events which involves off-hours work
  • Assist in the maintenance and documenting of technical and security policies and procedures, and inventory


This position will also assist in the administration and maintenance of a Windows network including file sharing, Group Policies, and centralized application and update deployment.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree and 1 year to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Technical knowledge of PC and peripheral hardware, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office is required. Experience with popular web browsers and basic networking concepts is expected. Familiarity with SharePoint, scripting, and some database experience a plus. Experience with A/V and conference equipment is highly desirable.

Excellent customer service orientation and strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Must be capable of supporting clients with a wide range of technical abilities and comfort levels. Discretion in handling confidential information and ability to make sound professional judgments required.

Good troubleshooting skills are crucial with the ability to independently resolve technical issues. Must be detail oriented and resourceful in solving issues while also able to follow specific guidelines when required, all while maintaining security recommendations and best practices. Must be able to work under pressure, prioritizing multiple tasks and finishing work within stated time frames. Must be able to work both independently as well as part of a team. This position will occasionally require availability outside the normal work day..

Budgeted Pay Range:

$50,000 -- $54,000 commensurate with education and experience
