The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of vascular medicine and peripheral intervention with specialized training preferred. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Applicants should be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students and residents, and training cardiovascular fellows in interventional procedures.
Clinical responsibilities may include performing and interpreting invasive (non-interventional) cardiac catheterization studies (cardiac catheterization laboratory at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania), percutaneous coronary intervention and inpatient consultative services. Specific qualifications include training and ability to independently perform coronary, structural, and peripheral interventions.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include conducting or collaborating on clinical/translational research, scholarly activity, and teaching, either as principal investigator on trials or in order to extend existing observations or generate new observations through collaborations.
Applicants must have subspecialty training and documented skills in all aspects of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures, and a track record of academic productivity.
