Job Description Summary
The Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania inspires an understanding of the relationship between plants, people, and place through education, research, and horticultural display. Located in the northwest section of the city, the Morris Arboretum is a destination for plant lovers from Philadelphia and beyond. The home to a collection of more than 13,000 woody plants and host to special and educational events, the Morris Arboretum is a hub for botany, horticulture and urban forestry and a special part of Penn.
Job Description
The Morris Arboretum is looking for industrious, part-time seasonal gardeners to assist with a broad range of garden maintenance tasks including watering and maintaining an extensive greenhouse range. This position frequently requires the expenditure of physical labor and the use of motorized equipment and other tools. Duties/Responsibilities can also include trimming, mowing, weeding, planting, pruning, and weed control. This is a 20-29 hour per week position that operates within the standard workday from 7:30AM to 4:00PM. The exact schedule can be somewhat flexible but includes some weekend duty. This position is not eligible for Penn benefits, except to the extent required by applicable law.
