Job Description Summary
As part of the Infectious Disease Clinical Trials Group, this position will coordinate clinical research consisting of projects in HIV, COVID19, and other Infectious Diseases. The person will support Infectious Disease Investigators in clinical research ranging from observational trials to investigational product trials, including both investigator-initiated and industry-initiated trials. Work requires on-site presence and interaction with research subjects. The position will assist with community outreach efforts throughout Philadelphia to recruit study participants which may involve travel throughout Philadelphia and surrounding areas to community based venues.

Work includes study implementation, community outreach, document development, regulatory work, subject recruitment and enrollment, study visits and regulatory compliance in one or more studies.

Job Description

DUTIES:

Screen, recruit, and enroll consenting patients using Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and conduct compliance monitoring of study participants. Includes community outreach efforts throughout Philadelphia to recruit study participants, which may require travel to community venues.

Conduct study related visits, including procedures such as blood draws, vitals, medical history, ECGs, targeted physical exams, providing study medication (PO and injection) and education to study participants, educating infusion nurses on IV study therapy and protocol infusion reaction guidelines, processing of biological specimens, and managing study data per protocol, GCP, and FDA guidelines.

Prepare for audits, review regulatory binders, perform internal audit and other QA activities. Handle monitor visits and audits with CROs, FDA, and other entities.

CRN-B: Correspond regularly with the Institutional Review Board and other regulatory agencies, including preparation and submission of protocols, protocol amendments, serious adverse event reports, and DSMB subject narratives.

CRN-C: in addition to the above, CRN-C may process and handle regulatory responsibilities for their studies.

CRN-B: With supervision, assist in preparation of source documents and study trackers

CRN-C: With supervision, assist in preparation of source documents, case report forms, study trackers, protocols and consent forms, and other moderately complicated study documents

Both above positions

CRN-B: With supervision will oversee Research Assistants and may mentor Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC) on subject recruitment, study visits, and other study related activities. Attend Investigator Meetings and communicate meeting information to the study team.

CRN-C: In addition to the above, with supervision they may mentor CRN-Bs.

Both above positions perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Effective problem solving abilities; effective communication and writing skills; strong organizational and time management skills; flexible and able to multi-task; strong attention to detail; demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently; knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations; high reliable and good work ethic required. Position contingent on funding.

Clinical Research Nurse B: Bachelor's degree required and 1-2 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Registered Nurse; licensure in Commonwealth of PA without restriction or limitation. Phlebotomy, injection, and research experience preferred.

Clinical Research Nurse C: Bachelor's degree required and 2-4 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Registered Nurse; licensure in Commonwealth of PA without restriction or limitation. Phlebotomy, injection, research, and regulatory experience preferred.

Both positions are contingent upon grant funding.
