Arlington Regional Dean and CEO

Northeastern University is a top research university built on a tradition of innovation and engagement with the world. Led by President Joseph Aoun , Northeastern is a pioneer in experiential learning, and integrates professional work experiences (known as co-ops), research, service, and global experiences on every continent.

In investing in its global campus network and the future of education, Northeastern has developed a network of regional campuses in addition to its presence in Boston. Each network campus is led by a Regional Dean and CEO who collaborates with the leadership of Northeastern’s Colleges, Schools, and Institutes in leveraging the faculty and expertise of the University to develop programming that is responsive to the industries and opportunities local to the campus. The campuses in turn serve as sources of programmatic development and innovation, informing and enriching the network and University.

Arlington will be Northeastern’s newest regional campus. To begin, Arlington will focus on graduate-level programs in areas that include data analytics, computer science, engineering, project management, applied quantitative methods, and political science. Located near key federal partners, the Arlington campus will also serve a point of connection and contact in the continued growth of the University’s nearly $160 million federal contract and grant portfolio.

Regional Dean and CEO, Northeastern-Arlington

Reporting to the Senior Vice Chancellor for the Global Network, the Dean and CEO of Northeastern University-Arlington will provide strategic direction and vision for the programs, services, and operation of the campus. Collaborating with the University’s leadership in Boston, the Regional Dean and CEO will identify and develop meaningful opportunities to leverage the University’s offerings in the distinctive economy and geography of the greater Washington DC area.

Like the other regional campuses, the Arlington campus will utilize a matrixed staffing model, with faculty and professional staff supporting the campus efforts while also reporting into the larger Northeastern University structure. The Regional Dean and CEO will provide exceptional leadership for all direct reports and matrixed staff resources on the Arlington campus. They will provide strategic direction in continuing to build a high-impact and diverse team with an emphasis on leveraging the strengths, resources, and relationships of the entire University.

The Regional Dean and CEO will develop responsive, dynamic, inclusive, and innovative educational opportunities with indicators of success that are ambitious and measurable in terms of enrollment, budget, and programmatic differentiation. They will be able to communicate their vision and plan confidently and through various mediums so as to be responsive to different and diverse audiences.

The Regional Dean and CEO has a natural cohort of peers in the leaders of the other regional campuses and works collaboratively in building the strengths of the network and of each campus within it.
