The Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of brain and skull base tumor surgery Including fellowship training and in clinical and/or laboratory research in brain/skull base tumors. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. ABNS eligibility is required.

Teaching responsibilities may include education of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include neurosurgical management of brain and skull base tumors and participation in the multi-disciplinary care of brain and skull base tumor patients, including clinical trials.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical, translational, and/or basic research in brain tumors, with funding from the National Institutes of Health and other federal funding agencies as PI.

The proposed clinical role will involve two major academic sites in the Penn Medicine Health System, the flagship Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Both hospitals are major sites for Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center, a world leader in patient care, cancer research and education that has been continuously designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) since 1973.
