Assistant Director of Industry Relations, SCAD Atlanta

As the assistant director of industry relations, you will curate recruitment experiences as the lead host for industry on ground in Atlanta, executing approximately 200 visits per academic year. Through working with the IAE to coordinate, schedule, and prioritize recruitment opportunities and events specific to the SCAD Atlanta student population, you will help to best showcase SCAD talent. The assistant director will partner with the director of CAS to unify career preparation strategies across multiple disciplines and to propose new recruitment tactics. It is crucial that the person in this position can pivot attention where needed and can build lasting relationships across the university for talent acquisition purposes.

It is the responsibility of the assistant director to hire, train, and supervise the industry relations coordinator, as well as to advise a targeted population of SCAD students and alumni. Leading this small team requires recommending advisers for internal committees and leadership opportunities. Additional responsibilities include working with CAS to plan and implement events such as Career Fair, having an understanding of career benchmarks and processes, and carrying out supervisory duties while adhering to the organization’s policies.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong work history
  • Supervisory-level experience
  • Understanding of the career-development process
  • Experience working with creatives and understanding of creative staffing processes
  • Experience in developing strategic partnerships with external entities for talent pipeline development and introductions to all university offerings
  • Ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Positive and proactive spirit and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience in career advising, recruiting, or brand partnership roles within the creative space

Travel Required: Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
