Temple University (“Temple”), located in the historic and culturally rich city of Philadelphia, is a Carnegie R1 research-intensive university, and the largest public university in the region. Home to more than 33,000 students and with 17 schools and colleges offering over 600 academic degree and certificate programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels, Temple is one of the nation’s most comprehensive and diverse learning ecosystems.

An international search is underway as Temple seeks a new leader to serve as the Dean of the College of Science and Technology to lead the College along a trajectory of excellence through the commitment to and promotion of scientific research and education, with the goal of advancing research, innovative programs, and extensive community partnerships. The Dean will be a visionary, strategic, inspirational, and inclusive leader, who is committed to the highest standards of academic and research excellence and integrity. The selected candidate must have a track record of distinguished scholarly and administrative achievements, which establish their ability to successfully navigate a complex academic and financial enterprise. They will serve as a role model to faculty and students and be a catalyst for developing the next generation of scholars and innovators.

In this highly visible role, the Dean will report to the provost, have an opportunity to build upon the College's momentum, and lead efforts to promote collaborative partnerships and synergies across the University. The Dean oversees all aspects of the College and will explore new areas for the expansion and growth of the College, oversee campus-wide planning efforts for the College's facilities, and develop interdisciplinary and innovative approaches to enhance the research productivity of the College and across the University.

The Dean will embody Temple's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice by embedding these efforts into the College's infrastructure, leading a diverse and inclusive team, and advancing research and education efforts focused on eliminating inequities. The ideal candidate will possess an earned doctorate or requisite terminal degree from an accredited higher education institution and experience and accomplishments that warrant an appointment as a tenured full professor.
